Meet the Cats

Romany and Treacle lived with Zeta when she was training as a vet in Australia. They moved to London under the pet passport scheme that allows cats to enter the UK without having to go through quarantine.

An exotic short-hair, Romany was re-homed after participating in a two year experiment into feline diabetes. Romany became a minor celebrity in Australia when she and Zeta made the prime time news to promote re-homing of the experimental cats.

Treacle, a energetic Persian, was also rescued from an experiment when the researchers discovered he had a corneal sequestrum that leads to blindness if left untreated. He was going to be put down because the organization did not have the money to save his eye. Zeta convinced one of the country's leading eye surgeons to perform the complicated surgery and two operations later Treacle's eye was saved. He spends his days dribbling ping pong balls up and down the hallway, which gets on Romany's nerves as she likes to sleep, a lot.
